Prince William SHRM Awarded 2024 Best Practices IMPACT Award

The Virginia SHRM State Council recently awarded Prince William SHRM its prestigious Best Practices IMPACT Award for Community Enhancement.

The Best Practices IMPACT award recognizes chapters for their major accomplishments, strategic activities, and tactical initiatives that elevate the profession of human resources.

The Best Practices IMPACT Award can be earned at six levels: Improved Membership (Non-DMR, Membership (DMR) Professionals, Advancing the HR Profession, Community Enhancement, and Thrive. Each level has a set of requirements and accomplishments that must be met. Prince William SHRM will receive a logo to display on its website, and information to share with its members about the significance of this award.

The Prince William SHRM chapter revitalized member engagement and growth by launching initiatives that fostered a dynamic and interactive community. Key actions included strategic planning sessions, adding in-person events like a member paint night, pop-up social networking events, community service activities for local charities, and quarterly fundraisers for non-profit partners. They also hosted their annual Employment Law and Human Resources Conference, Summer Social and Holiday Social. The chapter improved its visibility and member satisfaction through partnerships, social media outreach, and recognition programs. These efforts led to a significant increase in membership.
