Moon Over Buffalo

Entertainment and laughter abound when the Center for the Arts’ Rooftop Productions opens its 2014-2015 season with the comedy Moon Over Buffalo. The hilarious farce centers on George and Charlotte Hay, once headlining stars of the 1930’s and 40’s. But it’s now the 1950’s and their stars are fading and they’re relegated to playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in a rundown theater in in Buffalo, NY. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George’s dalliance with a young ingénue, they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom. Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee, and if he likes what he sees, he might cast them in his movie remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Unfortunately, everything that could go wrong does go wrong.
Moon Over Buffalo is directed by Ted Ballard and the cast includes Greg Powell and Lori Muhlstein as George and Charlotte Hay in addition to Jennifer Reitz, Brennan Penders, Cliff Rieger, Nichole Kardaras, Sherri Bendt and Ryan Dumar. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays, November 7-22, 2014 at 8pm at the Kellar Theater at the Center for the Arts, 9419 Battle St., Manassas. Tickets are $18 for adults and $15 for students and seniors ages 65+. Tickets are available online at www.center-for-the-arts.org or by calling 703-330-2787.
