PW Business Academy earns high marks

The eagerly-anticipated Prince William Business Academy is now open and accepting registrants. Initial sessions have been held in each of the three tracks—Marketing, sponsored by ASHA Public Relations, Sales,  sponsored by TML – A Xerox Company and Human Resources, sponsored by First Virginia Community (FVC) Bank—and are earning high marks from those who attended.  In post-session surveys, 100% of respondents said that they would recommend the Academy to others.
“I didn’t know what to expect or whether it could benefit my business.  I was left excited to put the knowledge into practice and reach new customers,” said participant Avon representative Linda Montavon about the first marketing workshop.
“Attending the Business Academy for sales has me excited about selling again,” exclaimed Stephanie MacFarlane of Matrix Computer Consulting.
Each session lasts four months and features multiple educational tracks. Four courses are offered per track.  Typically, the first three are workshops and the fourth is a lab where students can put new skills into practice with the guidance of an instructor.  While the structure allows students to build knowledge with each course they attend, each lesson is designed to also work as a stand-alone.  Cost is $25/session for members; discounts available for multi-employee or course registrations.
“We encourage members to register for any course that speaks to where their business is right now.  For instance, maybe staffing is not a concern at the moment, but compliance issues are.  In that case, you could just attend the compliance workshop on October 25, rather than taking the full HR track,” explained Prince William Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Rob Clapper.   See the full schedule and register online.
