Congratulations to Michael Whitlock with Transaction Expert, for being selected the Prince William Chamber of Commerce Ambassador of the Quarter!
“Michael Whitlock , is one of the most self-sacrificing small business owners in Northern Virginia. As a member of the PW Chamber Ambassador’s committee, Michael can be found daily around town supporting a new business’ ribbon cutting, mentoring a new local business owner, and/or attending any business’ event (regardless of industry). Michael has an unconditional mindset that all businesses are equally important to our community,” states Jinnae Monroe, Co-Chair of the Ambassador Committee with Michael.
We had a few questions for Michael:
How long have you been in business and why did you choose your field?
Started I n 2014 – Saw the Credit Card industry screwing the merchants. Breaches running rampage. Chip and Pin technology coming to US , the last country to do so. So, I have been on a crusade to help merchants process credit cards in a way no one has ever offered them before.
Please share one of the greatest moments you’ve experienced in your business life.
In the corporate world winning my first District Manager of the Year and a trip – which signified I could push people to be their best and build teams.
Are you involved with any non-profit organizations?
Yes, Many in different capacities. Besides being a PWCC board member.
Which ones and how are you involved?
The two main ones are the PWC Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence Taskforce. Getting the word out to parents and students. Physically volunteering for B.E.A.C.O.N., House of Mercy, S.E.R.V.E, Habitat for Humanity to name some. Monetary support to S.J.G.F., Comfort Cases, Barn to name a few.
Do you have a favorite restaurant or special activity in Prince William County that you’d like to remind us about?
FAVORITE Restaurant is Bistro L Hermitage , European food in Woodbridge.
Activity- PICKLEBALL , fastest growing sport in U.S. and worldwide. I am an Ambassador for the sport.
For you, what is the primary benefit of being a Chamber Ambassador?
Members First/ Members Strong is our Motto – Increasing my name and face recognition. I am an access point of contact for our members who can provide assistance and answer questions. Helping them make the most of their membership
What’s one suggestion you’d make to help the members get more from their Chamber membership?
Your Chamber membership is a piece of your marketing plan. Network, but you MUST have one on one meetings to build rapport and trust. Involvement in Councils or Committees you have a passion for.
