The Honeybee Experience at Heritage Springs Family Farm

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Where Pollinators and People Meet: A Hands-On Honeybee Experience for All Ages!

Catharpin, VA | Opening Day Saturday April 26, 2025– Get ready to experience the magic of honeybees up close and personal! Heritage Springs Family Farm is proud to announce The Honeybee Experience, a unique agrotourism event inviting guests of all ages to step into the world of pollinators, honey, and sustainable farming.

Taking place on select Saturdays throughout the spring and summer, this immersive program allows visitors to suit up like in protective gear and explore a working beehive alongside an experienced beekeeper. Guests will learn about the life of the hive, hold frames of bees, learn how bees communicate, and maybe even spot the queen!

“Our goal is to inspire a love for nature and deepen the community’s connection to where their food really comes from,” explains Shawna Hawkes. She owns Heritage Springs with her husband Neil. “Honeybees are one of my favorite parts of our farm, and sharing their story with visitors is so fun and rewarding.”

Tickets are limited to ensure a personal, hands-on experience. Each session lasts about an hour and 15 minutes  and includes time to meet our floppy-eared mini-Nubian dairy goats.
