Prince William Chamber of Commerce Appoints Kristi Black as Interim Chief Executive Officer

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 27, 2026

Manassas, VA – The Board of Directors of the Prince William Chamber of Commerce announced the appointment of Kristi Black as the Interim Chief Executive Officer on Thursday.

Black will serve in this role while the Board conducts a comprehensive search for a permanent CEO, following the departure of Bob Sweeney. She joined the Chamber in January as Director of Government Affairs, where she has led advocacy initiatives and strengthened engagement with public policy stakeholders at the local, state, and federal levels.

“Kristi’s appointment reflects the Board’s commitment to ensuring stability and strong leadership during this transition,” said Ross Snare, Chair of the Prince William Chamber Board of Directors. “She brings a wealth of experience, trusted relationships across the region, and a deep understanding of the Chamber’s mission. We are confident in her ability to guide the organization, strengthen strategic partnerships, and continue advancing policies and programs that support our members and the broader business community.”

Prior to joining the Chamber, Black served as District Director for former U.S. Representative Abigail Spanberger. In that role, she provided executive leadership across the district, advancing initiatives that supported economic growth, constituent services, and community partnerships throughout the region.

A Virginia native and proud military spouse, Black has called Prince William County home since 2014. Her background in public service, government relations, and community engagement positions her well to lead the Chamber during this transitional period.

“I am honored to step into this role and support the Chamber at such a pivotal time,” said Black. “The Prince William Chamber plays a critical role in advocating for and strengthening our business community. I look forward to working closely with the Board,

staff, members, and community partners to build on the strong foundation already in place and to position the Chamber for continued success.”

The appointment will continue until a permanent CEO is identified by the Board of Directors.
