Prince William Chamber Names New President & CEO
Debbie Jones Accepts Position, Plans to Focus on Members
Manassas, VA – The Prince William Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Deborah (Debbie) L. Jones has been named as President & CEO.
On Tuesday, June 10, 2014 the Board of Directors of the Prince William Chamber authorized the Executive Committee to prepare and negotiate an Employment Agreement and unanimously voted to appoint Debbie Jones as the next President & CEO of the Prince William Chamber of Commerce. Debbie has served as Acting President & CEO since February 18, 2014, and Chief Operating Officer since July 2011.
“I’m excited about the future and honored to be leading such a talented group of people,” said Jones. “I look forward to continuing to work with our amazing staff, volunteer leadership and members.” She went on to say that she plans to continue meeting with members of every industry and size, listening to their ideas, noting that without the members, there is no Chamber. “After 24 years of working for the Chamber in Prince William, I can say with certainty that the most important thing we can do is to serve our members and our community. As times change, so do the needs of our members, but a basic question is always in the back of my mind: ‘How can we as an organization help our members succeed?’ My vision is for the Prince William Chamber to be the go-to place for all businesses in this community. As CEO, I hope the business community will consider the Chamber staff as a team dedicated to their success.”
Prince William Chamber Chairman Bill White, Regional President for Prince William County with Apple Federal Credit Union, said, “It gives me great pleasure knowing Debbie Jones will lead our Chamber to new heights. Her passion and dedication to our members is inspirational and breeds success.”
Debbie Jones began her Chamber career in 1990, and served as President of the Prince William County-Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce from 1993-2010. She has been an executive in the Prince William Chamber since its inception in July 2010, most recently as Chief Operating Officer. She is currently involved in numerous boards in the community including The Center for the Arts, Smart Beginnings, and the Executive Advisory Board for the Benedictine Sisters of Virginia. In January 2013, she was named to the Board of Trustees for Novant Health. Debbie is a proud graduate of Leadership Prince William Class of 2010 and LEAD VA Class of 2007. In 2003, she was awarded the Chamber Executive of the Year by the Virginia Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives.
