NVTA to Discuss FY2014 Projects

The Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA) will host a series of informational open house meetings and a public hearing on proposed projects to be funded under Virginia’s landmark transportation bill, which is estimated to bring Northern Virginia $1.9 billion in new transportation funding over the next six years.
A local open house meeting is set for Wednesday, June 12 at 7 p.m. at Prince William County’s Old Manassas Courthouse, 9248 Lee Avenue, Manassas.  This open house is aimed at residents of Prince William County and the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park, though all are welcome.  Other open house meetings are being planned in other northern Virginia jurisdictions.
NVTA also will host an open house and public hearing on Thursday, June 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Council Chambers at City Hall, City of Fairfax.  During the hearing and open house, the public can learn about and comment on the projects proposed for FY2014.
Check out the NVTA’s website for more information on the proposed projects, planned meetings and opportunities for public comment.
