On Support Your Local Chamber Day 2024, we are thrilled to share with you a short story from Chamber Member, Linda Krieg (Executive Director, CASA CIS), telling her story of becoming a Chamber member.
“Two years ago, I moved from Illinois to Prince William County to assume my new role as Executive Director for CASA Children’s Intervention Services. Part of my role was to develop new avenues of support from businesses and individuals. I quickly realized I did not know one person in Prince William County!
One of my board members worked for the Prince William County Chamber of Commerce and suggested that I attend one of their events. CASA was a Chamber member, and I started receiving the weekly newsletter listing all their events. I signed up for everything that would fit in my schedule. I attended business before hours events, business after hours events, the non-profit council meetings, and every ribbon cutting event I could attend.
Within a few short months I met amazing people living and working in Prince William County. Each event helped to expand my network and helped me develop new connections for CASA. I have lived and worked all over the country. The Prince William County Chamber is the most welcoming and well-organized Chamber I have ever been associated with. I am sincerely indebted to the Chamber staff and members for all they do to support our community.”
