All Future Trucks Will Follow: Entire Fleet to Run on Natural Gas
MANASSAS, VA, January 7, 2014 – American Disposal Services,who is nearing completion of their single stream recycling processing facility, The American Recycling Center, is proud to announce the addition of two Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks, now servicing customers.
The brand new, top of the line trucks arethe first waste collection vehicles to run on Compressed Natural Gas in the entire Northern Virginia area.
American Disposal Services has implemented a long term plan to replace every diesel powered truck in their fleet with a CNG counterpart. American is dedicated to an entire fleet fueled only on natural gas. No future diesel collection vehicles will be purchased.
By committing to clean, natural fuel, American Disposal ensures that their trucks will emit significantly less greenhouse gas and cancer causing emissionsthan those powered by diesel, and will not release any dangerous diesel fumes for drivers and members of the community to breathe.
Additionally, American Disposal Services is helping to reduce our dependence on foreign oil and supporting America’s energy independence by choosing to invest in this healthier, sustainable, American resource.
