Prince William Chamber Announces

“Best of Cuisine” Winners

Prince William, VA – More than 125 people came out for Cuisine de Commerce, a showcase of local food providers held by the Prince William Chamber of Commerce. Attendees sampled food from 15 restaurants and caterers during this “taste of the town” held at the Continental Event Center and sponsored by Internet Ad Management. The event also served as a food drive, benefiting ACTS, SERVE and the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry. Throughout September, food drive sponsor Burke & Herbert Bank accepted food donations for the drive at its branches.
“Food banks are a great community cause and we are pleased to have our branches serve as locations for collection of food donations inconjunction with the Prince William Chamber,” said Burke & Herbert Senior Vice President Terry Cole.
Since the soup kitchens at ACTS and SERVE were open the night of the event, staff from those organizations chose to give their share of the non-perishable donations to the Haymarket Regional Food Pantry. ACTS and SERVE took the Cuisine left-overs (described by Chamber staff as “ample”) to serve that evening.
“Thank you for including ACTS today in the wonderful Cuisine De Commerce event. We enjoyed meeting many Chamber members and are so grateful for the food donated from the various restaurants. We appreciate your support in helping us serve those in need,” said Kelly Lindquist, from ACTS.
“I’m proud that so many of our members are glad to give back to the community that supports their business,” said Bruce Moore of Internet Ad Management, Inc.
Another highlight of Cuisine de Commerce is the “Best Of Cuisine” contest, where attendees vote on their favorite dishes in a number of categories. This year’s crowd favorites are:

  • Best Entree (tie) – Bella Vita Italian Eatery
  • Best Entree (tie) – Carmello’s
  • Best Side Dish (tie) – Kikiriki
Best Side Dish (tie) – R&R Catering
  • Best Appetizer – Not Your Average Joe’s
  • Best Dessert – Sweet Creations Yogurt
  • Best Presentation – Westminster at Lake Ridge

“Cuisine de Commerce is a great reminder of the high quality dining options available in greater Prince William,” said Chamber CEO & President Rob Clapper. “We’re proud to serve the businesses of our community and to provide opportunities to highlight all that they offer.”
Clapper added that the Chamber’s largest such event, Connections, is right around the corner. “There you can visit exhibits of more than 100 local companies, learning about their services and getting to know the people behind the business,” said Clapper. “It’s free to the public. We’ll also have food samples and chances to win prizes.”
Connections takes place Oct. 24, 4-7 pm at the Freedom Aquatics Fitness Center in Manassas. Information on all upcoming Chamber events can be found online at pwchamber.org/events or by calling 703-368-6600.
