Chambers of Commerce in Commonwealth’s “Battleground” region to host Virginia U.S. Senate candidates’ forum
Virginia’s major party candidates for U.S. Senate will present their ideas for America’s future to business leaders from Commonwealth’s most important electoral battleground
Manassas, VA — Demonstrating the growing significance of Virginia’s most important electoral battleground region, the two major party contenders in the 2014 U.S. Senate contest will appear before an audience of business and community leaders from Loudoun, Prince William, Reston and Fredericksburg in a September 19th U.S. Senate candidates forum.
Democrat Mark Warner and Republican Ed Gillespie will face off in this “Battleground Forum” at the Center for Innovative Technology (CIT) in Herndon, VA. Following a brief opening statement, the candidates will each take questions from a panel of seasoned business leaders on the issues of importance to the United States and Commonwealth’s economy and business climate.
“We are proud to partner on this pivotal political event in Virginia,” the presidents of the participating Chambers declared in a joint statement. “This ‘Battleground’ Forum will offer business and community leaders in Virginia’s fastest growing and most economically vibrant region an exclusive opportunity to hear the two candidates for the U.S. Senate from Virginia explain how they plan to change the political dynamic in Washington and get our national and local economy back on track. Our chambers represent an economically diverse region of the Commonwealth. We share a common vision of promoting and sustaining economic growth that will benefit the thousands of businesses and jobs that we represent.”
