Want to get into reading but aren’t sure what book to try? Join Pure Barre Woodbridge’s Book Club and read one book per month! Members get to vote between five options that have been carefully curated by PBW Staff Member Madalynn Amos. Once the winner is decided, the book is announced and members can start reading!

One book club member said, “As an avid member of the PBW community, often the best relationships are built away from the barre! The book club seamlessly makes that transition from the studio to people’s personal lives. It’s a great way to learn about the people you take class with. It helps early rising and late night members connect when they wouldn’t have otherwise! It’s a great way to learn about each other outside of our 50 minutes of lift, tone and burn in class.”

When it comes time to meet, members connect in person or virtually. Madalynn leads the assembled group through 10 or so discussion questions, sidetracking to discuss member interest and answer questions about the plot. “One of the best things about book club is that you learn so much about your barre friends. Members bring their professional experience to the stories: we have a retired police officer, a nurse, a psychologist, an English teacher – varied lenses that allow for a rich discussion. We have members who share personal experiences and their relationships with these books, and some folks who just come to listen. Everyone brings something with them, and I’m so glad to facilitate this,” said Madalynn.
