VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!
Help spread the joy of giving this Christmas by volunteering at our Christmas with Mercy program. We are expecting to hand out toys to over 400 children this year. We need lots of help in order to make this possible! A volunteer sign-up will be available soon! Also, consider volunteering other days to help sort the toys we receive.
Historically, children volunteers younger than 10 years old do not enjoy helping with this event. Kids younger than 14 years old do, but they must be accompanied by an adult. All volunteers must be able to attentively listen to instructions and accurately follow them.
SIGN UP: We have limited space and slots available – everyone MUST be signed up (Ex: child and accompanying adult) if you wish to volunteer. Unfortunately, if your name is not on the sign-up, you will not be able to participate that day. We have lots of spots available; if your first choice is full, please consider trying another role! We have a great need for volunteers in order to make the event run smoothly.
REQUIRED FORMS: This year we are requiring all volunteers to be a registered volunteer of House of Mercy (this entails having completed the application process and background check) OR complete the attached one-day volunteer waiver (the waiver must be completed and returned by December 6th).
MEDIA RELEASE: By participating in Christmas with Mercy, you give permission for House of Mercy to take video and photographs to utilize in future media and promotion. If you do not wish to have your photograph taken, please notify a staff member prior to the event and we will make arrangements.
COVID19 LIABILITY RELEASE: While participating in events held or sponsored by House of Mercy ‘social distancing’ must be practiced and face coverings worn at all times to reduce the risks of exposure to COVID-19. Because COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is spread mainly from person-to-person contact, House of Mercy has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. However, House of Mercy cannot guarantee that its participants, volunteers, partners, or others in attendance will not become infected with COVID-19. Participants and volunteers agree to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 (symptoms typically include fever, cough, and shortness of breath) and, contact House of Mercy at info@houseofmercyva.org if he/she experiences symptoms of COVID-19 within 14 days after participating or volunteering with House of Mercy. I agree to release House of Mercy from any and all liability for unintentional exposure or harm due to COVID-19.
