Virginia is rich with small businesses and entrepreneurs. It’s also home to thousands of talented authors. A new quarterly publication, Virginia Authors Book Sampler, seeks to pair the two together and provide readers with quality excerpts of published books.
“My goal is to help readers find out about the great talent we have in this state. Many of us have friends and relatives who are authors. But marketing and connecting with readers is always the hardest task. With this publication, readers can discover and support those gifted men and women, ” says Editor-in-Chief Victor Rook.
The first issue of Virginia Authors Book Sampler (VABS) is well under way. Ten authors have submitted portions of their work, and several advertisers have come on board, including Old Towne Man Cave in Manassas.
Advertisers can purchase a 1/4-page ad (3″ wide by 4″ tall) for just $45. After the publication is released, businesses who wish to sell them can purchase the books at cost, or make a copy available within their office waiting rooms. Copies will also be available online in print, ebook, and free downloadable .pdf.
“I want it disseminated in as many ways possible, at little to no cost, to readers worldwide,” says Rook. “That means a lot of exposure for the authors and the supporting businesses.”
The deadline to be included in the Winter 2016 issue is December 15, 2015. There’s still space for more authors and advertisers.
