Medicare

Medicare is a health insurance program for individuals aged 65 or older and those who are disabled or have end stage renal disease.  Are you one of the 48 million Medicare subscribers? If so, then you probably have questions! Luckily, the Prince William Area Agency on Aging has a resident expert. She will begin with a general overview of Medicare, including enrollment, coverage information, and programs that may save you money on Medicare costs.

We will also briefly review some common scams…and how to prevent fraud!  There will be time for questions from the audience at the conclusions of her remarks. Be sure to arrive early to get a good seat! ”

The Most Important Component of an Estate Plan:  Powers of Attorney

The laws in Virginia now recognize more expansive delegations of responsibilities to an agent acting on your behalf.  The powers can be limited or general.  The powers can extend to medical decisions, including end of life decisions; to financial matters, including selling real property; to preplanning for funerals and cremation, even to allow access to your online accounts such as email or banking.   Learn more about the importance of powers of attorney in managing your estate.
