A first-of-its-kind college degree program is coming to Greater Washington

Northern Virginia Community College will begin offering a cloud computing degree with the help of Amazon Web Services, one of the first degrees of its kind offered by a two-year school.
The reveal came Wednesday during AWS’ Public Sector Summit in D.C., a two-day conference expected to draw 14,000 attendees. In her keynote address, Teresa Carlson, the vice president of AWS’ worldwide public sector business, called it an exciting new step in creating a cloud workforce — a key component of the emerging tech skill set needed to fill the 21st century talent pipeline.
