Chamber Seeks Student Scholarship Applicants

 
Manassas, VA- The Prince William Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for their student scholarship program now through February 20, 2018. The application is available online at PWChamber.org. Through their scholarship program, the Chamber seeks to support higher education by awarding scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have demonstrated a commitment to both academic success and community involvement.  Three (3) scholarships in amounts of up to $2,500 each will be awarded. Lockheed Martin is sponsoring one of the three scholarships.
 
In order to be eligible for the Chamber scholarship program, one must:

  • Be a graduating high school senior with plans to enroll in an accredited community college, trade school, college or university;
  • Be a current Chamber member company employee or the dependent of an employee; this includes staff of all Prince William County, Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park public schools and corresponding governments. Students can find out if their own or their parents’ place of employment is a Chamber member company by searching PWBizFinder.org. All listed companies are members of the Prince William Chamber of Commerce;
  • Hold a cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher;
  • Complete the application package;
  • Demonstrate leadership and commitment to the community.

 
Completed application packages, including essay, transcripts and letters of recommendation are due to the Chamber no later than 5:00 p.m. on February 20, 2018.   Finalists will be required to participate in an interview on either March 28 or 29, 2018.  Winners will be notified on March 30th and required to attend the Chamber’s Education and Innovation Breakfast on April 27 where scholarship recipients will be honored.
